We are so lucky to have Mrs Clyde in our class. She often brings in exciting objects for us to look at.
Last week she brought in a Dinosaur tooth...interesting!!!!
We had a chat about what sort of dinosaur the tooth might of belonged to. Where might it have lived, what might it have eaten?
Here we have two fabulous writers sharing their stories.
Great descriptions Tom and Ashton.
Welcome to Room 8's blog for 2017. We are an energetic Year 0/1 class and our teachers are Mrs Grant and Mrs Turner. We are looking forward to working together and learning lots of exciting and new things this year! Check our blog regularly to see what we have been up to. We would love to read your comments.

Days of the Week
For Maths, Team 8 are learning about Time. We have been practising the days of the week. It is important we know these and can put them in order. On Friday we made chains that had the days of the week in order. Here we are showing them off and singing "The Days of the Week" song.
Please help us to practise them at home too. :-)

Arts Week Fun
Team 8 had a ball during Arts week.
- We finished our Dream Catchers - Thank you soooo much to those lovely Mummy's who came in to help and to everyone who sent in ribbon, feathers and beads- they look absolutely amazing and we are super proud of how hard the kids worked on them.
- We learned to blend colours with Mrs Grant - start with one colour and just keep adding white.
- We did magic crayon pictures with Mrs Turner - see us shaving crayons and melting them with the iron.
- We learned to draw a person - Thanks Mrs Grant for the instructions!

New Wall Displays
If you haven't already, come in and have a look around at our walls to see products of our learning!
In Maths we have been learning about "positional language". All of us can now use words like up, down, beside, on, under etc. Some of us can even tell the difference between left and right! Test our knowledge out at home.
In this display we have drawn a picture of our bedrooms. Then we put Hairy Maclary in there somewhere. Can you tell what position Hairy Maclary is?
In this display we rounded up our learning about "How our actions effect the environment". Team 8 came up with many different ways we can help our Earth to stay healthy for many more years to come.
Our door is always open to friends and family so if you're in the area please feel free to come in and check out what we are doing and creating.

W.A.L.T: Draw our faces.
Self Portraits
Team 8 have been looking at the features and shapes of our faces. We have been looking at mirrors to see where and what shape our features of our face are.
We discovered that some of our faces are more round than others. Our eyes are an oval shape.
These are a few photos of us looking at the mirrors. Then there are a few photos of the beginning of our Self Portraits.
We are still working on our masterpieces!

Drama with Team 8 - 'The Life Cycle of a Frog'.
Tuesday 14th February
There are two tadpoles in Team 8. Mrs Turner brought them in for us to watch change into frogs.
On Tuesday we noticed one of them had changed quite a lot. We all looked carefully and saw that one of them is looking almost like a frog. It has its front and back legs and its eyes are changing,
The other one is getting fatter and starting to grow its legs.
Here are some pictures of what they look like

Mrs Grant read some books to Team 8 about the life cycle of a frog. We then did some Drama to show the different stages of the life cycle.

| Team 8 then cut and paste their life cycle together. |
We had a great time jumping around like crazy frogs.
Make sure you watch our blog for further frog drama!
